IRIS INSTRUMENTS

Designs, manufactures and sells geophysical equipment for applied geology investigations including groundwater and mining exploration, geotechnical studies, environmental surveys, archaeological searches.

A versatile electrical resistivitymeter which combines a transmitter, a receiver and a switching unit in one single casing. It is supplied by a 12V battery. The measurements are carried out automatically (output voltage, stacking number, quality factor) after selection of limit values by the operator, and are stored in the internal memory. Uses multi-core cables for controlling a set of electrodes connected in a line or in several lines. The standard number of electrodes: 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, can be increased through Switch Pro units for 2D or 3D ground images.

The ten channels of the system permit to carry out up to 10 readings at the same time for a high efficiency. The Induced Polarisation chargeability (IP) is also measured through 20 windows for a detailed analysis of the decaying curves displayed on the graphic LCD screen.

Syscal Pro Switch Prosys Electre Pro

The ELECTRE Pro software is a program allowing to create some 2D-3D-surface/boreholes sequences

of measurement for IRIS Instruments SYSCAL Pro-Switch resistivity-meters. Minimum recommended PC configuration:

download brochure

  • Windows XP
  • 1 GHZ Microprocessor
  • RAM memory: greater than 1 Gb
  • 1280 x 1024 resolution screen
  • The upload of the sequence into the unit is done by a serial link RS-232 cable or by a USB link

The creation of a sequence is made in 3 steps:

Step 1:
Creation of the grid

Step 2 :
Definition of the parameters of the sequence

Step 3 :
Creation of the Standard sequence, or a Move sequence (defining the number of electrodes to be shifted) in case of long profiles acquisition

Resistivity & Chargeability data
managing PC software

The PROSYS II software is a program allowing to transfer, edit, process and export resistivity and chargeability data of the IRIS Instruments resistivity-meters (SYSCAL) and IP receivers (ELREC). Minimum recommended PC configuration:

  • Windows XP
  • 1 GHZ Microprocessor
  • RAM memory: greater than 512 MB
  • 1280 x 1024 resolution screen
  • The data download is done by a serial link RS-232 cable or by a USB link

Filter the data according to one or several specific parameters by choosing the range of values to be kept

Modify the electrodes coordinates (insertion of the topography)

Tipix 3000

A 3 kW transmitter designed for time domain IP and deep resistivity surveys. It will generate up to 2500 V for work in resistive areas and up to 13 A for low resistivity regions. The MASTER-SLAVE mode allows to connect two TIPIX in series, whatever their power. This type of connection adds the maximum voltage and power of the two systems to increase the amount of current injected on medium to high contact resistance values.

A 10 channel Induced Polarisation (IP) and Resistivity receiver designed to improve productivity when recording deep profiles and soundings. Beside the classical arithmetic and logarithmic modes, ELREC Pro also offers a Cole-Cole mode and twenty fully programmable windows for a higher flexibility in the definition of the IP decay curve. Designed for use with the TIPIX and VIP high-power transmitters’ series.

Can be used in conjunction with the Switch Pro box(es) to increase the spread to 120 electrodes which connected by multi-electrode cables with complex measurement sequences can be designed and uploaded to the system via Electre II or Electre Pro software.
