Target provides a complete solution for geological modelling and interpretation that can help to increase understanding of subsurface geology through rigorous analysis of integrated geoscience data.

Powerful capabilites for geological modelling and interpretation :

  • data import and organization

easy-to-use import wizards and highly-efficient databases to import and organize drilling data (collars and surveys to lithology), assay results and downhole geophysics with more than 50 supported data formats including CAD, GIS, mine planning and modelling

  • data Processing and QA/QC

process large volumes of drillhole data and validate data, identifying and correcting discrepancies. Set coordinate system, create composite database, average values, calculate significant intersections and edit rock codes. Cross reference drillhole data against digital core photos stored online in Coreshed from within Target

  • integrated mapping and analysis

create integrated maps using geology, geophysics, geochemistry, GIS data and satellite imagery to increase subsurface understanding

  • drillhole planning and reporting

plan new drillholes in 2D and 3D using the planning tools. Re-generate and update plan and section maps using automated tools, to make daily targeting and drill decisions

  • geological modelling

create 3D voxel block models and isosurfaces from drillhole data. Calculate volume and grade estimates based on geological models

  • section mapping and Interpretation

visualize subsurface data by creating sections, stacked sections, fence diagrams and graphical borehole logs. Incorporate surface data and slice voxels and 3D wireframes or meshes into sections to guide interpretations

  • geochemical analysis and QA

effectively import, validate and analyze surface geochemical data, and perform essential tasks for due-diligence and reporting. Confirm the validity and quality of geochemical data, including assay, standards and location data acquired in surveys. Conduct geochemical analysis using summary statistics, histograms, scattergrams, tri-plots, principle component analysis, probability analysis and correlation plots

Recommended hardware and software requirements for Target version 9.1

 
 

Operating System

Windows 10 (64-bit) - Recommended.
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit)

CPU

A multi-core Intel i5 or i7, or an AMD A10 or FX CPU is recommended.

RAM

8-16 GB recommended, 4 GB minimum required.

Graphics

A graphics card supporting OpenGL 3.3 is needed to run with hardware acceleration. Software based graphics rendering at much lower performance levels are supported for systems without an OpenGL 3.3 card.

The minimum graphics cards required for hardware acceleration would be :

§ Intel: HD Graphics 2500, 4000 (Intel HD Graphics 2000 and 3000 do not support OpenGL 3.3)

§ NVidia: Any card with OpenGL 3.3 support

§ AMD: Any card with OpenGL 3.3. support

 Recommended graphics cards for better performance would be :

§ Intel: HD Graphics 6000 or 520

§ NVidia: OpenGL 4.0 Support & 4GB RAM

§ AMD: OpenGL 4.0 Support & 4GB RAM

Printer/Plotters

If you wish to improve your computation time by using your GPU, a more advanced graphics cards is required. The minimum cards that provide benefits over using your CPU are :

§ AMD : R7 240, HD7700

§ NVidia : Quadro K620, GeForce GTX 570

For substantial performance gains, we recommend :

AMD : R9 270

NVIDIA : Quadro 4000, GeForce GTX 750

 

Any Windows® supported colour printer. Hewlett Packard® large-format ink-jet plotters are recommended.

Installation Permissions

When installing, you MUST be logged in with Administrator permissions.

Installation Disk Space

2 GB or more of free space on the Program Files drive is required for the installation process.

Data Disk Space

Data disk space depends on the volume of project data to be processed and the printer driver you are using. We recommend 500 GB to 1 TB, minimum 50 GB.

Internet

Internet Connection: To use VOXI, we recommend a medium to high-speed internet connection (512Kbps upload and 1Mbps download or higher). The faster your internet connection, the faster you will be able to upload your modelling information to the VOXI cloud servers and download your results.

Internet Browser: To use the internet capabilities in Oasis montaj or Target, you will need to install Internet Explorer 8.0 or later. This does not mean that you have to have Internet Explorer as your default browser; Oasis montaj and Target just use the internet connection technology supplied in IE8.

The following software prerequisites are required and will be downloaded and installed if not present:

• ESRI ArcEngine 10 (SP3)
